Tuesday and Wednesday night sees some of the SPL big taking their place in the first National Cup Competition of the year. SPL League leaders Aberdeen will be looking to continue their early season form by going to 2nd division side Alloa and getting the win. In the past this is the type of fixture that the Dons have slipped up in. Hearts have a much easier tie as they host Elgin who sit bottom of the 3rd division.
First divison high fliers Raith Rover will be looking to shock Hamilton at Starks Park. Hamilton have lost 8 goals in 2 SPL games whereas Raith top the 1st Division averaging 3 goals a game. Dunfermiline get another home cup tie as they take on Clyde , Dundee travel to Brechin , St Johnstone host Morton and Falkirk travel to Patick Thistle in a all 1st Division tie.
Wednesday night games include , St Mirren making the long journey to Dingwall to take on cup specialists Ross County. Inverness take on Peterhead , Kilmarnock host Airdrie in a tasty game and Queen of the South take on the leaders of the 2nd division Forfar.
